| Our winter
season starts in mid-December when you can easily access and engage
in winter recreation activities in the backcountry of Steens Mountain.
During the winter, Steens takes on a brilliance that is a must see,
must experience wilderness adventure. Ski, snowshoe, or tour on untouched
mountain powder while witnessing the breathtaking beauty of the Mountain
covered with snow. Interpretive and educational opportunities
abound with Steens Mountain Packers through our winter snowcat touring,
cross country skiing and snowshoeing programs.

Lake Creek Base Camp is the ideal lodging establishment for your winter activities on the Steens. It easily accommodates up to 24 people and has all the amenities necessary for a comfortable winter experience staying on Steens Mountain. |
