Lake Creek Base Camp offers a unique experience with outstanding accommodations set in the tranquil atmosphere of Lake Creek Canyon's aspen groves on Steens Mountain in southeast Oregon. At 7000' elevation, SMP's Base Camp is your perfect year 'round retreat. Secluded, yet conveniently located, in the heart of the Steens where you want to be and what you came for. Your experience with SMP is all inclusive from the afternoon you arrive until you depart with comfortable tent-cabin accommodations including queen size bed, queen size futon, wood stove, and porch, helpful and friendly camp staff, gourmet meals, and interpretive information provided. The Base Camp is centrally located on SMP's 320 acres with both Lake Creek and Fish Creek running through the property. Winter conditions at this elevation are vastly different than during the summer. Our snowpack is generally three or more feet offering a multitude of winter recreation opportunities including snowshoeing, cross country skiing and snowcat touring.

La ke Creek Base Camp is perfect in the winter for corporate Christmas or New Years parties, group retreats, special events, corporate team building workshops, college, and institutional programs. We can accommodate large groups and customize programs to suit your needs.

Lake Creek Base Camp Winter Stay Includes
